Grace's FoalWe are pleased to announce SCW The Ultimate Zephyr (Grace) foaled April 19th, 2013 just after Midnight. She delivered a stunning black and white stud colt sired by Pride's Thrill-Ah-Gee. He is a full brother to Thriller's Chisum Trail. They seem to match and would make a great team.

Janes Dark N StormyWhat a birthday present indeed! This was the first year one of our mares gave birth on my birthday. At 2:30 am April 2, 2013 Janes Dark N Stormy went into labor. She had text book delivery giving birth to a beautiful black and white tobiano filly! She is the spitting image of her dam and has a refine head and chisled ears like her sire Pride's Thrill-Ah-Gee. She is so small that she can walk underneath her mothers belly and between her back legs.

Border Collie Catahula PuppySpring is in the air and our first babies to be born at the ranch this year were a litter of puppies. Kiwi, a registered short haired border collie gave birth to a litter of five puppies Febuary 9th, 2013. They were sired by our stud dog Dash who is a short haired  3/4 border collie and 1/4 catahoula.

Stormy Pregnant 1 03172013It is getting close to time for our first foal to be born at the ranch. Janes Dark N Stormy is expecting her first foal due March 23, 2013. She is bred to Pride's Thrill-Ah-Gee our senior stallion that we are currently standing. Stormy is a maiden mare, and hard to predict what may happen with a first time mom. So far she is progressing normally showing signs of belly dropping, relaxing of pelvis and starting to bag up.

Brook Team Sorting on Midnight's TobinanoToday Midnight Tobiano (Tux) and I showed how to ranch sort in style with his glide running walk and cowy nature. We sorted at Keyser Creek Arena in Columbus, Montana. Ranch sorting is a new event where you have 12 head of cattle numbered from 0-9 and two blank cows settled in one round pen. You and your partner have 1 min and 30 second to sort the cattle in order once your number is called, into the opposite round pen.

Thriller Dental 03152013Today was our annual equine dentist day here at the ranch. Our great dentist is John Uecker from Lewistown, Montana who has been doing this for 30 plus years. It is so important to get your horses teeth floated every year no matter what their age or body condition. A horse's teeth continue to grow throughout their entire lives, and as a result they develop sharp points that can cause sores on the inside of their cheeks and gums. When this happens, it can cause great pain to the horse and prevent them from eating properly and getting the full benefit of mastication of there food and diet intake.
